Player Ratings: Seattle 2-1 RSL

RSL clawed back as a team but came up short.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Seattle Sounders FC Stephen Brashear-USA TODAY Sports

David Ochoa - 6 Ochoa pulled out a good save or two, but what was more impressive was his vocal leadership to motivate RSL to keep fighting.

Andrew Brody - 6.5 Up until he cramped up and was forced to leave the game, Brody was one of the better players on the field and came up with a great save when Ruidiaz looked to be in a one on one situation.

Justen Glad - 6.5 Glad came up with a good amount of stops and was in a lot of good positions throughout. He was solid for the vast majority of the game.

Marcelo Silva - 5 Silva did not seem to have any sort of reckless play in Seattle which was good to see. He stayed in the right spots and was focused.

Aaron Herrera - 5.5 Herrera had a couple of questionable moments when he could have cleared the ball rather than putting it back in play, but his service was top notch.

Everton Luiz - 5 Luiz was pretty quiet on the night in his return to the starting lineup.

Nick Besler - 5 Besler has a pretty good chance to head the ball into the goal but it went just wide.

Damir Kreilach - 5.5 Kreilach was in good positions to try to score, but the Seattle defenders were too stingy to let him have a good chance.

Albert Rusnak - 7 Rusnak scored RSL’s goal on a beautifully taken penalty and had an otherwise good game in which he was creating chances and opening up the field.

Justin Meram - 5.5 Meram did not have the impact on the game that one would hope for, but road games on turf make things difficult for a creator like him.

Rubio Rubin - 6 Rubin did a good job to make the right runs and earned a penalty because of it.

Pablo Ruiz - 6 Pablo played with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder which is a good response to his last performance which was subpar.

Bobby Wood - 5.5 Wood was unable to find his rhythm in his MLS debut, but did get a half chance on a header.

Donny Toia - 6 Toia came on due to an injury to and set up Rubin for the penalty. That’s an impact sub.

Anderson Julio - 5.5 Julio made some good attempts at taking on defenders but ultimately was unable to break through.
