David Ochoa - 9 Ochoa had a performance that shows why national teams think so highly of him. He made a bunch of spectacular saves and even stopped a Vela penalty kick.
Donny Toia - 4 Toia had a few good moments, but LAFC outclassed him and repeatedly penetrated the ball on his side of the field.
Justen Glad - 5 We saw a lot of last ditch steps that prevented LAFC from scoring, but we also saw some lackluster defense against a potent LAFC attack. Glad and the rest of the defense looked resigned.
Marcelo Silva - 4.5 Silva made some risky tackles and missed too many of them leading to more LAFC chances.
Aaron Herrera - 6.5 Herrera got his first MLS goal off of a counter and did it with his left foot. He was one of the bright spots on an otherwise poor defensive showing.
Pablo Ruiz - 3 There was not a lot of good to show from Ruiz’s game in LA. He gifted the opposition the ball over and over again with his inability to make the right decision and execute the pass.
Everton Luiz - 6 Everton had some strong moments in the first half including a nice layoff assist to Herrera, but as time went on his motor started to run out.
Damir Kreilach - 4.5 Kreilach was unusually absent in this one, not really making much of a mark on the game at all.
Albert Rusnak - 4.5 There were some passes that Rusnak made that alleviated pressure and helped RSL keep the ball in the first half, but his passing got progressively worse.
Justin Meram - 4 Meram got a start but did not have the kind of game that he needed to keep that starting position. He tried to do too much against too many defenders and lost the ball more often than not.
Rubio Rubin - 5 In a game where RSL was absorbing pressure for the vast majority of the game, it was difficult for Rubin to get shots off.
Substitutes
Anderson Julio - 5.5 Julio gave RSL some much needed pace up front and spread the field out a bit. Unfortunately, he did not have enough time to do that before RSL ran out of gas.
Nick Besler - 5.5 Besler performed at least as well as the other midfielders throughout the match, but was only able to have a slight impact against the talented LAFC squad.
Bobby Wood - 5 Wood had more of an impact defending set pieces than on offense, but that is hardly his fault.
Maikel Chang - N/A
