Player Ratings: RSL 2-2 Galaxy

New, 3 comments

RSL’s first half was under control and then out of control in the second.

MLS: LA Galaxy at Real Salt Lake Rob Gray-USA TODAY Sports

David Ochoa - 7 Ochoa made some impressive saves that probably should have gone in the net. His confidence is high right now and he is showing us why he is getting all sorts of national team attention.

Donny Toia - 5.5 Toia played with some grit and fire throughout. He was not as good in possession as we needed him to be at times.

Justen Glad - 6 Glad made some wonderful recovery saves with some nice tackles and stood his ground where he could.

Marcelo Silva - 5 Silva was relatively quiet on the night but for a couple shaky plays.

Aaron Herrera - 6 Herrera picked up another assist and played as hard as he is capable of, but also looked to have lost his mark on the game-tying goal.

Pablo Ruiz - 4 It is hard to say what is up with Ruiz lately, but he is not controlling the midfield like we saw him do over the course of a year. He lost the ball which led to the first Galaxy goal.

Everton Luiz - 5.5 Everton was one of the better RSL midfielders in possession but did not connect on some passes that would have been timely.

Damir Kreilach - 4.5 Kreilach was silent again except for a couple of shots that he needed to recalibrate.

Albert Rusnak - 6.5 Rusnak got his first goal in the run of play in 2021 and had another rip that unfortunately did not end up in the net.

Maikel Chang - 7 A goal and an assist for Chang is a great night. He undeniably has a big impact on the game by creating chance after chance.

Rubio Rubin - 6 Rubin was in great spots, but did not have enough help around him to make good things happen. He was credited with an assist though by opening the way for Chang to score.

Substitutes

Nick Besler - 4 Besler relaxed for a split second when he should have applied pressure and the Galaxy capitalized with the game-tying goal.

Anderson Julio - 5.5 Julio opened the game up a bit for RSL and had a nice header that ultimately hit the post in the last minute or two of the game.

Bobby Wood - N/A
