Player Ratings: RSL 1-0 Austin FC

RSL did enough to win at home.

ac MacMath - 6 Austin FC put one shot on goal and MacMath saved it. He did what he needed to do to help RSL get three points at home.

Ashtone Morgan - 5.5 Morgan got another start and fulfilled expectations with his hustle and determination to keep Austin off the scoreboard.

Toni Datkovic - 6.5 A solid second game from Datkovic in a RSL jersey. He was unlucky not to score and had a confident presence at center back.

Marcelo Silva - 5.5 SIlva had more than one hard tackles to match Austin FC’s aggressiveness. He was assertive but not out of bounds.

Aaron Herrera - 5.5 This was an interesting game from Herrera. He had a really nice first half and set up RSL to score a couple times but his passing cooled off in the second half.

Everton Luiz - 5 Everton covered a lot of ground as per usual but had a difficult time helping RSL control the midfield.

Damir Kreilach - 6 Dami had three shots and was selfless in his passing. He played like a leader.

Albert Rusnak - 6.5 A very efficient game from Rusnak who created a lot of looks for himself and others and got off two nice shots even though the keeper got the best of him.

Justin Meram - 5.5 Meram got around defenders but connecting his passes proved more difficult.

Jonathan Menendez - 6.5 Menendez got a nice assist after working the ball up the field and finding Wood in the box. His craftiness came in handy on a few occasions.

Bobby Wood - 7 Wood had a textbook snapdown header to score RSL’s lone goal and seems to be getting into good form after a string of consistent, significant minutes.

Substitutes

Pablo Ruiz - 6 Pablo was a great tactical substitution. He brought some fresh legs and a bit more control to the midfield and help preserve the shutout.

Maikel Chang - 6 Chang had a good impact on the game getting off a nice shot and completing all of his passes.

Rubio Rubin - 6.5 Rubin came on for Bobby Wood and was really dangerous in just 17 minutes getting off three shots and putting two of them on frame.

Nick Besler - 5.5 Besler locked things down on defense and broke up a couple late plays where it looked like Austin was going to get off a good shot or two.
