Well, if you told me that Friday morning would feature Freddy Juarez leaving the club, discovering that Freddy Juarez quit, and then discovering that it was so he could join Seattle Sounders, I would have been very confused and told you to go back to bed.
But here we are.
Sources: Freddy Juarez is leaving RSL to join the Seattle Sounders as an assistant.

Seattle just lost two assistant coaches Gonzalo Pineda and Djimi Traore. Juarez was out of contract at the end of this year, RSL had option on him for 2022.
Sam Stejskal on the beat, as always.
It’s fascinating that Juarez quit to take a lesser role with a better team. It’s hard to blame him, and for me, it speaks volumes. It’s actually really hard to unpack that all right now, so I need to collect my thoughts, but wow.
As Stejskal goes on to note in a further tweet, Juarez worked with both Garth Lagerwey, Sounders’ GM and president of soccer, and Craig Waibel, senior vice president of soccer — that certainly had something to do with it. The timing is pretty clearly in Sounders’ favor, but time will tell if it’s in RSL’s favor, too.
