A shutout win at home on an honoring Nick Rimando night is pretty swell. And who else for the goal and assist than Kreilach and Herrera? It’s a hard question for me who’s the team MVP right now. I’m just hoping we can keep the two of them on the field together for the rest of the season.
Pieces
Mastroeni has found a way to put our pieces in the right places. We’re making the best use of the players we have at the moment and lining up in a way that allows us to play with the strengths that we have.
Round in round. Square in square.
You can see the energy from the players. There’s a buy-in to what’s currently happening that hasn’t been around the past couple of seasons.
Can it last? Maybe. I don’t know. I’d like to think so, but it’s all going to come down to the mentality of the team as a whole. Keep the chemistry moving and we keep this season alive.
Pablo Ruiz had one of his great nights. Rusnak looks alive. The back line feels together and communicative.
Consistency is key, now.
Wednesday’s match (that I finally had time to watch last night) and now this win make me think that RSL have what it takes to make a decent playoff push, providing we get there. It’s going to be a close race in the Western Conference.
Overreactions
How many wins will it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a just-hire-Mastroeni?
I prefer Mastroeni remain an assistant, so does that mean I want RSL to lose?
Blast this paradox of conflicting emotions.
