Four winners, two losers from RSL’s 2-1 win over LA Galaxy

You know who’s first on the list.

MLS: LA Galaxy at Real Salt Lake Jeffrey Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Winner: Anderson Julio

I mean, yeah.

Winner: David Ochoa

The kid was a tremendous shot-stopper on the night, and I truly think his stop on Chicharito when one-on-one made a huge difference in shaping the types of shots the striker took following that. He put his mark on the game, and even though his distribution left a lot to be desired, he proved his value tonight.

Loser: Everton Luiz

Too often, Everton was second-best in the midfield. It led to a very open game for LA Galaxy, who had an array of opportunities. It was sloppy work once again, and I’m not sure RSL has a better option.

Winner: Damir Kreilach

The man can’t stop scoring goals. That’s 12 on the season from him, and he always scores in the strangest times from the most hopeful of situations. He gets an added bonus for the pass that led to Anderson Julio’s game-winner, although one might suspect that was an extremely optimistic pass at best.

Winner: Andrew Brody

It was a nice return for the wing back, and I’m hopeful it leads to an increase in minutes in the future. Let’s take it easy with his recovery for now, though — but this gives us plenty of reason to be optimistic.

Loser: Justin Meram

Meram laid a bit of an egg out there, playing at half-speed and with an equal amount of precision. He was lucky to not cost RSL points in this one.
