Real Salt Lake and Seattle Sounders will meet each other in the playoffs after weekend results sealed a second consecutive post-season meeting.
The two last met in MLS Cup playoff action in 2011 in a Western Conference semifinal match. Real Salt Lake won that one 3-2 on aggregate, with a 3-0 win at home and a 2-0 loss on the road.
The two-legged series will have matches on Nov. 3 and either Nov. 7 or 8, but supporters from both sides will be forced to wait until Saturday or Sunday to learn who hosts.
With Real Salt Lake hosting Vancouver on Saturday, and with Los Angeles Galaxy hosting Seattle on Sunday, the Western Conference run-up to the MLS Cup should prove scintillating.
Despite losing to Portland Timbers earlier on Sunday evening, Vancouver also sealed a playoff berth as Seattle beat FC Dallas. They'll play LA Galaxy on Oct. 31 or Nov. 1.
