Real Monarchs take on Arizona United SC in quick turnaround match

Two short days ago, Real Monarchs were in Seattle putting together one of their best performances of the season but came up short again 1-0. They don't have too much time to dwell on another loss, as they arrived Saturday to take on Arizona United SC.

The Monarchs tallied 10 shots on goal Thursday versus Seattle Sounders 2, but none of those 10 shots were able to find the back of the net. The improved attack up front is bound to yield results for RMSLC. The defense will receive a shot in the arm, as Chris Schuler, recovering from injury, will suit up Saturday for the Monarchs. The RSL starting center back has been loaned to RMSLC in hopes to return to full fitness, and return to a starting role for RSL.

Arizona United SC are 5-6-1 on the season, and their 16 points have them sitting ninth in the west. They are coming off a 2-1 home victory over Seattle Sounders 2 last Saturday. The heat of Arizona seemed to affect on S2, and hopefully won't have the same effect on the Monarchs this week as they've trained in the dry heat of Utah, which is a change from all the rainy and cold matches in Sandy in April and May.

The match between the Real Monarchs and Arizona United SC kicks off at 8:30 p.m. MDT Saturday June 27.
