It seems like the Real Monarchs and the Colorado Springs Swtichbacks have played each other quite a few times this season. Wednesday night will be the final meeting between the two clubs this season. These two teams have faced each other once in the preseason, three times in the regular season, and once in US Open Cup play. Unfortunately for Real, the only Monarchs victory so far in was in the preseason.
The Monarchs are coming off a 1-1 draw at Sacramento Republic FC, which gave them the series victory, as RMSLC went 1-0-3 versus Sacramento. With the draw, the Monarchs still occupy the bottom of the table with a 2-13-8 record.
The Switchbacks are tied for third in the Western Conference after defeating Seattle Sounders 2, bring their season record to 12-9-3. Looking to catch LA Galaxy II who occupy the top spot in the west.
Max Rauhofer services his final game of a five game suspension tonight, which was handed down from the league after a red card he received versus the Orange County Blues for his part in the brawl that marred the end of their 2-1 loss on August 1.
The Real Monarchs and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC square off Wednesday at 7:00 PM Mountain.
