Grant Wahl has claimed that the United States Men's National Team will play a 2014 World Cup qualifier at Rio Tinto Stadium on June 18 — a date on which the U.S. faces Honduras.
In a Twitter conversation with a Real Salt Lake supporter (embedded below), Wahl said he "broke some news" about the match.
@trevor_brady Sure--I'll be out for the US game, which is likely to happen on June 18 (whoops, broke some news there...)

Whether it comes to fruition or not is undetermined at this point, but Rio Tinto Stadium has already been confirmed as a Gold Cup location. The date for the Gold Cup match is not yet confirmed but is likely to be a double-header.
Wahl has a strong reporting track record and is the author of the well-received book The Beckham Experiment, which details David Beckham's arrival in the U.S. and includes the memorable line "This is not correct!" from former LA Galaxy full back Abel Xavier.
