Alvaro Saborio, all-time leading goalscorer for Real Salt Lake and a menace in the air, has unsurprisingly been named to Costa Rica's preliminary 30-man squad for the 2014 World Cup.
Costa Rica missed the World Cup in 2010, but Saborio was involved during the nation's 2006 berth. He came off the bench for his nation against Ecuador and Poland, but didn't make the pitch against Germany.
Saborio's chances of starting are significantly higher in this iteration of the tournament; with matches against Italy, England and Uruguay on the cards, his firepower will need to be at full-strength for a meaningful impact on the tournament.
He'll be missed at RSL during his absence, having scored six goals and found two assists during the opening ten games of the season.
He's almost certainly a lock to make the 23-man squad for Costa Rica.
